Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night
after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth.
What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces,
surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached.
And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake,
boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.
I really liked this book.It was one of the best books I have ever read.

DeleteThis book is super easy to read and super fun to read. Sometimes it gets a little hard to follow but other than that one of the best books ever!! Also I can kind of relate to it because I will need braces. DEFINATELY READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DeleteI have read this book and i thought that the author did a fantastic job of putting a true story into a comic book form!! The graphic novel was about a girl who has to work through FOUR AND A HALF YEARS OF DENTAL WORK!! From my point of view,this book was incredibly creative and realistic.

This book was a book that suprised me of how good it was I thought this book would have been okay but is was really good. I liked the way that the book was a grafic novel.

DeleteI love this book ! It shows the struggles and dissions you make while you're growing up. It also shows how who you think your friends are.... may not be yor friends.

DeleteSo far, this book is great. It seems like real life, in so many ways. I'm pretty sure many people have experienced problems, that just keep getting worse. In Raina's case, middle school is like a horror movie that never, ever ends. I suggest this book for people who like middle school stories. In fact, I'm almost done, and I would not mind reading it once again, because it is full of adventure, tradgety, and just pure fun!

DeleteThis book was amazing! Just think of all the things that Raina went through mentally and physically is mindblowing. Although I haven't knocked my two front teeth out, I know how much it hurts to fall on your face and hit your teeth.

ReplyDeleteSmile is a great book! I just finished it. I think it's crazy that you have to wear braces for 4 and 1/2 years. It surprized me that her best friends turned out to be mean to her. I agree with F2Durham I hate that it skips so much of her life. But it still is a really great book. I recomend this book!

DeleteI loved this book. Even though Raina goes through a lot of struggles and hardships she manages to break through, find new friends, and get her life back. I also read this book in one day. This book had a great ending because Raina finally gets perfect teeth.
