My Life as a Book


Summer’s finally here, and Derek Fallon is looking forward to pelting the UPS truck with water balloons, climbing onto the garage roof, and conducting silly investigations. But when his parents decide to send him to Learning Camp, Derek’s dreams of fun come to an end. Ever since he’s been labeled a “reluctant reader,” his mom has pushed him to read “real” books—something other than his beloved Calvin & Hobbes.
As Derek forges unexpected friendships and uncovers a family secret involving himself (in diapers! no less), he realizes that adventures and surprises are around the corner, complete with curve balls.

    I have not read this book yet. I can predict by the way it is told about on the back it will be about a kid during summer break. I can also predict that the kid in the book is being bad over the summer because it says that he is getting sent to learning camp.I look forward to reading this book.

    I'm only on page 50 in this book, but I alredy love it! I don't wanna give away too many spoilers, but it's about a 12 year old kid who's out of school, and he's planning to have the best Summer of his life! But little does he know, he won't be having too much fun too soon... ANyway, the point is, I love this book and I highly reccommend this book!

    Derek wants to spend his summer doing fun things with his friend Matt and his dog Bodi, but his parents sent him to learning camp for the summer. So far i think that this is a great book and everyone should read it.

      I agree with j6eppler it was the BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think people should REALLY try this book out.At first it might seem a little boring but at the end it turns out to be a really good book.

      f6blake, I agree also that this is 1 of the best books anyone will ever read.This is turning my new attention to Janet Tasjian and away from Rick Riordan.

    I really LOVED this book.Even though it is easy to read it is a page turner.I loved the ending twist!!!!!!!!!Any body who likes the diary of a wimpy kid books should try this book.

    really didnt like this book ...I got it because it was going to be like a diary of a wimpy kid book ( love those books) but its not. Only reccomend this if you are looking for your last making waves books,didnt impress me at all. sorry.

    This book made me want to keep reading with a mystery of susan the babaysitter.it all started with the end of his school year and he had to read to read 3 book and then........well i dont want to spoil it just read it and then youll find out what happens.overall i loved it

    My Life as a Book was a book where I finally understood why my twin brother used to hate reading so much , he was just like Dalton.But this book was a book I finished in two days. I just couldn't put it down! I would defiantly recommend this book for anyone.
