How They Croaked: the Awful Ends of the Awfully Famous

Over the course of history men and women have lived and died. In fact, getting sick and dying can be a big, ugly mess-especially before the modern medical care that we all enjoy today. How They Croaked relays all the gory details of how nineteen world figures gave up the ghost. Readers will be fascinated well past the final curtain, and feel lucky to live in a world with painkillers, X-rays, soap, and 911.

    1. I completly agree with you this book is highly recommended if you want to know how famous people died and, and some-what how they lived. Even though the point of the book was that even though they were sick, they kept moving toward their dream. Still you make a VERY good point. :)

  6. This book was interesting in all sorts of ways! It teaches you about sicknesses, and how people like Christopher Columbus, Albert Einstien, and many more died, and what doctors did to cure it. Overall, How They Croaked was an amazing book. In addition to all the interesting facts, everyone was connected somehow! I would reccommend this book to anyone looking for an exciting and informative book.

  10. This book was not what I expected it to be. It was a short book made up of 16 stories on how people died. It has disgusting parts, funny parts, I can't believe that parts, and extra facts. My favorite part would have to be the funny remarks the author made to lighten up the stories. I also was amazed at how people I like researching and learn about died.

  26. This book to me,well.....IT'S DISCUSTING,the way they describe different deaths from infection like, having doctors put their nasty fingers in a bullet hole in your back or having to suck fluids out of a hole in your stomach with a tube! I recomend this book for people with stong stomachs or kids 9+. I definitely agree with c6boyd-VERY GORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. Despite the eerie, dark nature of the book itself, this is a good read, and I enjoyed it. It's interesting to learn exactly how the people we look up to and learn about today, well, "croaked." I recommend this book to anyone who wants to go a little darker; or someone who is just interested in how famous people in history croaked. Spooky!
